REMARKS from Barbara:

Every day I drive my Kawasaki Mule from my home to the Amphitheater. Computer in hand, thermos of tea at my side, I greet the Mother and wait.

REMEMBERING Mary Jane:

Mary Jane sat with me early one morning with our backs to the Mother tree. She had a thermos of hot tea. And sweet woman, an extra cup to share her tea with me.

Hanging Out With Mother Nature

Summer is the time Mother Nature shines in all her glory. This is the season to spend time relating with her to build a loving relationship. I spend more time working on my computer, writing on the patio, reading under the four redwood trees. I always take my shoes off so my feet can touch the earth, acknowledging the element and elementals of Earth. I spend time breathing in the warm air and acknowledge the power of the sun, relating it with the element of Fire, and the air with the element and elementals of Air. The Water element is present in a glass on the table beside me.

Last year Mano asked all of us to build a relationship with one particular place in nature.

I had tea with the redwood trees in the front yard. For the past seven years I have dedicated July and August to go daily to the Amphitheater and spend time with the Spirits of the Land.

I greet the Mother tree, a large redwood at the entrance. I open the computer and open my heart and sit with a quiet mind and release my imagination to see what impressions come into my consciousness.

One morning I was sitting on the ground drawing an ink/stick picture of a face in the tree. I was suddenly aware of 5 small gnomes standing in front of me. They were about 2 feet tall and looked me directly in the eye. I greeted them in love and asked them, who are you? “We are the keepers of the land. The ones who do all of the work around here.” 

At that point my inner vision was aware of a woman walking toward us wearing a colorful full skirt. I thought she must be their nanny. I heard an immediate rebuttal, “We don’t need any nanny, she is our Maria and teacher, helping us understand some of your actions that make no sense to us. She tells us what it is like to live in a human body and live a human life. It all seems so complicated. She says you have more chips inside of you than we have and yours are not all going in the same direction. We only have a few chips inside of us and they are all going in the same direction, creating harmonious and direct action.”

The next day as I entered the Amphitheater I reflected on this conversation. Having my chips all going in the same direction means I am open for God’s love to flow through with ease. The elementals have fewer chips that are always open to God’s energy flow. I looked up and saw them standing in front of me. I told them I am very interested in our conversation about the chips. “Then why don’t you align your chips all of the time? It feels so good to be in alignment, why would you do otherwise? This is what we ask our Maria and she says it is a misuse of God’s gift of free will. You have choice, we do not. Actually, we prefer it that way.”  

I thanked them for sharing with me and told them, “I find your words to be very wise.” 

They responded, “It is easy to be wise when our chips are all going in the same direction.” I pondered this for a long time and have decided that my chips align when I focus my energy

in my heart and abide in love’s presence.

I have walked to the Amphitheater over 6000 times. When I first moved to the mountain and first met Mano over 30 years ago, almost every day he would ask me to send love and say hello to the plants and trees as I walked by them. One morning I was particularly aware of the mature madrone and redwood trees. When I got to the Amphitheater I wrote to the trees, “I love you and feel so grateful for the opportunity to be present with you on a daily basis. You are so majestic and strong. Today I am feeling a special blessing flowing to me.” 

A response from a tree flowed into my mind and said, “I would like to speak. I want you to know your daily presence this past month has helped to awaken our sleeping energies. To have you, a person, just come and stay here with us over and over, tuning in to the Mother and sometimes actually melding into her presence, means more than you can know. When you do this for one of us it flows out to all of us. What we are creating here is nature and human spending time together, just the way it was in the beginning. There is much for you to gain in consciousness about our connection, and what you do know is enough for now.” 

I thanked the being and added, “I have the feeling the voice I hear is all of the trees not just one spokesperson.” 

It replied, “Yes; we speak, live, and breathe as one.”
