Reminder from Mano:
When you step outside, say hello to Mother Nature.
The “art as a cultural deed” theme brings me to the value and blessing of powerful places that teach us, through their access vortexes of beauty, to connect—up and down, horizontal and vertical, through prayer, art, imagination. The Amphitheater is a shining example.
In her 2014 book Celebrating the Magic of Jim’s Road, Barbara tells the story of where she lives, a small, vibrant spot off Alba Road in Ben Lomand. Through the years, it called to it a remarkable group of individuals who settled-in there, started various spiritual retreat centers, and practiced their arts of sculpture, healing, community building, architecture, singing, sacred circle dancing, movement to classical music, folk and rock music.
Barbara introduces the Amphitheater as one of the area’s residents: “Located at the end of Jim’s Road, it is said that this was an ancient Indian Healing Grounds. A scared grove. A ‘Thin Place’ where angels and elementals have been experienced. The angel of the Amphitheater’s focus is on Creative Expression.”
Jim and Barbara Thomas bought the Amphitheater in 1982 with the inspiration of using it to celebrate wholeness, as well as to make certain it would continue to be available to the local community. “When we moved to Jim’s Road, my life started going through a major transition and a deep transformation,” Barbara writes. “On my first walk to the Amphitheater, I was aware of a very large spirit being walking with me. I realized it was a gnome. He and the angel I had already connected with have been my constant guides and teachers as I have followed the trail of my destiny and learned what my life was about. Walking to the Amphitheater every day at 10 to paint and relate with the land, I became aware that the large gnome I had met the day I arrived was always in the Amphitheater to greet me.”
“I have connected with three levels of spirit beings in the Amphitheater. I call them ‘the starry ones of the heights,’ such as the angels and ascended ones: ‘the shining ones in the deep earth,’ who are the wisdom keepers that live within the earth; and ‘the precious green and growing clan,’ the spirits of the four elements, earth, air, fire, and water, that live on the surface of the earth.”
“These beings watch over this land, to keep it sacred and clear of discordant human thought forms. They are focused on creativity and the desire to stimulate, reveal, and share blessings with each person that comes who is open to the world of spirit and to their own potential as a creator being present here on earth in a human body.” . . .
“My own experience of angelic inspiration has been to develop my ability to tune in and relate with the ones I call the Council of Gnomes; to paint the energies of Mother Nature; to hear word by word guidance to write the book, The Burned Woman; to produce the DVD Healing Burned Woman; and now to write this book, Celebrating the Magic of Jim’s Road.”
“I have been given the message that when people drive off Alba Road onto Jim’s Road, the energy shifts to help them let go and open to higher levels. . . .The trees on the path to the Amphitheater continue this work by clearing people’s auras from the moment they leave the parking area until they enter the Amphitheater. Most people stop in wonder when they first see the Amphitheater. They are filled at that time with a blessing from the Beings who dwell in this sacred land.”
“These Beings have also told me that once a person has been present and received this blessing, the Amphitheater angels continue to inspire and guide, even at a distance. Very few arrive in the Amphitheater who have not been called ‘to remember and return.’”
“Other times, the angels of the Amphitheater connect the person with their own guardian angel and body elementals, so when they go home they can be a little closer in relating. Each time a person thinks of the Amphitheater, the angels are alerted and send energies of light that can give the person what they need.”
“There is a vortex of energy here on Jim’s Road, centered in the Amphitheater and circling out in a small radius to bless and inspire people to come and visit, or to come and live.”
