Wild Geese

Wild Geese

REMINDER from Mano:

Everyone has a Spiritual Council. Your council is always present, when you are willing to give them attention and a way to connect with you.

REMARKS from Barbara:

Today was a sweet blessing roaming through my computer files reading teachings and remembering experience from the past 10 to 15 years ago.

REMEMBERING Mary Jane:

Mary Jane’s death was a great challenge for me. Mano trusted Mary Jane to write his blog when I had refused to do it. Now the blog was placed back in my hands and so with Mary Jane’s beautiful writing to guide me. With prayer and intention I took up the adventure.

Wild Geese

Blog #132

Reading Mary Oliver’s poem, Wild Geese, opened my heart and memory to a variety of experiences that called me to join the wild geese in memory and experience as they are heading their way home again.

When I lived in San Luis Obispo my home was in an open field with windows that allowed me to watch the wild geese as they flew south, and then again six months later north on their way home. Intuitively year after year I would feel their call. I would go to the window and look out and there they were flying over my yard, hundreds and hundreds of wild geese flying overhead.

My Spirit Council, Mano, Rama, and Joseph, call to me like the wild geese, announcing my place in the family of things and my world.

Life has been different inside me and outside since I moved into my wonderful new home, Amity Lodge, after the burning of my sweet little home, Amity Cottage.

I think the change started at the last Thanksgiving when my little cottage housed the family to celebrate Thanksgiving weekend.  Ten adults and five little ones younger than three year-olds. I realized my family has multiplied. Our four children have now multiplied to thirteen.

The women joined together in the kitchen while little ones held onto their mothers’ legs, or being held with one arm while resting on their mother’s hip. Food was the challenging thing. Some eat meat at every meal. Some do not eat meat. Some eat grains, other don’t. In addition there were changes on the land with four or five fallen trees, the septic tank was overflowing, and the road needed paving to fill huge potholes.

At that time I was hosting meetings in my home. Supporting a friend moving from England to get settled here in the United States. My Acupuncturist got mad at me and refused to treat me. One of my workers that I have counted on for 6 years had become unreliable. And within my body, I have been unreliable. Not drinking enough water, not exercising, not going outside to relate with The Mother and the elementals.

Lots of stuff going on and in spite of it all I continued my morning practice diligently, knowing deep in my heart if I ever stopped connecting daily with the Council even after 20 years it would be hard to start again. In my heart I know I need my Spiritual Council to hold my world together. My Morning Practice consists of a conversation with my Council by reading a three card Tarot spread, recording it in the computer then intuitively recording a conversation in the computer. Each morning Mano and Rama are able to speak to me through the cards and the computer to guide me with my daily life.

This past month I have been going through journals, organizing them to bring order to my inner life. And going through my desk and files, organizing my outer life. My inner life is making a huge transition. New parts of self are coming forward, old familiar parts of self are leaving, they have done their job and are no longer needed.

It feels like everything is up for grabs. It feels like everything is changing. The wild geese are flying by calling my name.

My Council reassures me, you are home, Barbara. All is well, just different.

I heard a statistic report that less than 3% of the population of the world is interested in Spiritual matters. Being so dedicated to spirit it is hard for me to realize that. I remember when in Australia long ago, I took the Myers Briggs test. My numbers came up as the smallest percent of those taking the test had those numbers. At that time it was a great relief to realize that truth, it helped me to understand the response I often got from others. It was not a matter of being right or wrong. My numbers said it is ok to be me, I am just different. Each person has their own numbers, each has their own way.

Jim and I were in Australia at that time. We were on a teaching tour to New Zealand, Papua New Guini and Fiji. It helped me to stay centered in my heart. Share what came up to be; share and release the others I was working with to respond to my sharing as was true for them.

I think where I am right now is simply looking at what is going on in my life, doing what needs to be done, and abiding in love. From Thanksgiving to Bridgit’s day, February 1, this year was a deep inner looking at my life. Now as I move into spring, I sit at Bridgit’s feet. Bridgit is the Great Mother of the Celtic race. Once again, over and over, I align my life with The Mother’s guidance, love, and wisdom. Like the migrating geese, my heart returns to align with the Great Mother each spring as she shares the abundance of color and fragrance of bulbs and flowering trees, to once again affirm her love for her human, her animal, and her elemental children.

    Hello Barbara,
I love your morning Practice! My Practice sets the tone for my day in gratitude and grounding. It’s a time to say thank you to the Elementals and the Devas that work on my property and in my home.
    Hugs and love,
