Your Council and guiding angels and elementals are ever present and aware of what is going on in your daily life. They offer guidance for ways that would support your highest good. Two common words, ‘inspiration’ and ‘intuition’, are ways they speak into your Deep Mind with their wisdom and suggestions.

Deep Mind, Surface Mind

After spending the month of June in ‘never, never, land’, basically not present in daily life, in and out of the hospital, experiencing Covid during that time and not being aware of the experience, I moved into my new home on July 2. I lay horizontal on the couch while my dear family and friends were active around me.

Gail, who had been helping me select furniture, color, and design features for my home, spent one day with my daughter Donna and another with two friends arranging all of the furniture in the house, she purchased bedding and made the beds, put towels in the bathrooms, handled everything to make the house ready to move in. It was so easy for me. All of this time I was living in a deep inner place while being aware of all of the surface activities.

During this time, I have noticed two ways of thinking and interacting. I have identified and experienced havi­­­ng a deep mind and a surface mind. My Deep Mind is where Mano and my Council speaks to me and the Surface Mind is where my family and friends speak.  Guidance comes to the deep mind as a word or thought floats to the surface. Once walking into my bedroom, I heard the word SANCTUARY emerge from the deep mind. I realized I was to create that room as a Sanctuary for prayer and inner work as well as the place I sleep.

This deep mind records my inner life and guides me from Spirit. It is the place from which Spirit speaks and guides. I realize everyone has this deep mind as well as the surface mind and feel there is great value in learning to recognize that inner voice as guidance. The place from which our guardian angel can connect and speak to guide us in ways of wisdom and clarity.

I know that the ‘never, never land’ I was in for the month of June was actually living in the Deep Mind. During that time, when I woke up in the surface mind I was reciting the Violet Flame mantra. I have recited this mantra 15 minutes each day for the past 20 years. It is an anchor of alignment with the spiritual dimension of life. I was delighted to find myself reciting it automatically each time I came to the surface of my awareness.

This mantra has been created by St. Germaine, the great teacher who has his center at the base of Mount Shasta in Northern California. I share it with you as a gift of a powerful prayer to guide, guard, and protect your life.

Deep Mind is where we live with our inner dimension of life. The Surface Mind is where we have our everyday thoughts.  It Is even where our everyday mind runs along its own track of mindless thinking.

Sometime in the ‘70’s I read the life of Sri Aurobindo, An Indian saint and teacher of many students from all over the world, who still come to his ashram in India to study his teachings long after his death. My life has been changed and blessed by his teaching, saying if we would quiet our mind from the rambling mindless thoughts, we would be blessed the rest of our life. I have found this to be true. At first it was hard to hold my mind in silence, slowly it became a habit, and then totally automatic.
