Becoming the Woman on the Mountain

Becoming the Woman on the Mountain

Barbara’s cottage

REMINDER from Mano:

You are not alone. Our heavenly parents have given you a guardian angel and a body elemental to support you in every way.

REMARKS from Barbara:

I am enjoying this review of those early beginning days.It is encouraging to remember the Council always has a Plan A for every aspect of my life. And they lovingly shift to Plan B if I miss their guiding nudges.

REMEMBERING Mary Jane:

I count on her continued support from her new home to, “help heal the rift between the angelic, human, and elemental realms.”

BECOMING THE WOMAN ON THE MOUNTAIN

Blog #73

This morning, March 2019, while adventuring into writing my first blog, Mano told me the Council always wanted me to do the writing of this blog. When they saw that I was not going to do it, they went to ‘Plan B’ and asked Mary Jane to take over creating the blog in collaboration with Mano and Barbara. This allowed Mary Jane’s guiding spirits to move forward with their own guidance of her life.

At the time when Mary Jane heard the message she was determined to receive, yet did not follow the guidance to go home to connect with the spirits on the land where she was living, her guiding spirits realized that their ‘Plan A’ for Mary Jane was not going to work and so they moved to ‘Plan B’ to expand her own experience of nature through collaborating on the Council of Gnomes Blog with Mano and Barbara.

An aspect of Mary Jane’s destiny path and service was named and honored in her last Blog telling about the anthroposophic massage therapist who came to her house and commented on the many nature elementals all around the room. She added that it might be Mary Jane’s destiny to help heal the rift between the angelic, human, and elemental realms. And so Mano and I will continue to write the blogs sharing her wisdom, observations, and experiences.

I want to continue musing about being The Woman on the Mountain.

I marvel at the ingenuity of my Council to move me through many steps of opportunity and open doors, following their nudges and inspirations to embody ‘Plan A’ and actually become The Woman on the Mountain.

First I had to be moved from the comfortable nest of parents, church, and friends in the Los Angeles hub. They needed to move us to the country, so I could actually experience nature in person, rather than through the car window or the vacant lot I played in as a child living in the heart of a Los Angeles community of asphalt, apartments, and cement. I always looked forward to the time after the rainy season when water puddles that formed in the vacant lot spawned pollywogs which grew into those sweet little frogs with whom I loved to play.

Moving to San Luis Obispo, we created a “gentleman’s farm”. We planted fruit trees and a garden. I learned to can and preserve the food we raised. I made cheese from the milk of Bonne, our goat. I learned to spin and weave wool. I made coats, ponchos and jackets. I was terrified and put on a garden glove for protection the first time I removed an egg from under a sitting chicken. I thought farmers were the bravest of people.

Years later I was attending a conference in the Santa Cruz Mountains when my friend Denby excitedly came to me saying, “Oh Barbara, they are going to sell the Amphitheater and we will never get to use it again.” At that moment I heard the inner voice say, “Buy it”.

The next day I visited the woman handling the sale and bought it. At that time I thought I was buying it for someone else to buy it from me. After 30 years of living here I now say, “the Amphitheater bought me.”

Soon after buying the Amphitheater, Jim and I took a year vision quest through Europe to see how God would use our time and talents as individuals and as a couple. I fell in love with mother earth while working in the Findhorn Garden five days a week for three months. When we came home I established the practice of sitting outside with mother earth to watch the stars disappear while waiting for the sun to rise. One morning I heard the inner voice say, “Barbara, I do not need you in San Luis Obispo any longer.  I need you on the mountain.” And so we moved again.

As soon as I got settled in the cottage, I took a walk to the Amphitheater. I was aware of a large gnome walking beside me, he felt about my height, I knew his name was Mano.

He then said, “Time is not governed by the hands on the clock. Time is governed by segments of intention.” With this unexpected statement I knew I was not making it up. This had to be real. Our relationship developed as each time I went to the Amphitheater. Mano was always there to greet me. This became a lovely gentle way to build a relationship of bridging worlds.

The first time I heard the title “Woman on the Mountain” was at a Pantheacon conference. The leader was introducing a guided journey saying, we are going to visit the cottage of The Woman on the Mountain; she will invite us in for tea. After a while she will take us to enter the magic forest where elemental, angel and faerie beings dwell. At this point I heard Mano say, ‘Barbara, you are the Woman on the Mountain, this is what we want of you.”

Mano smiles as I write this and says, “Thank you Barbara, In this case you have fulfilled our ‘Plan A’.” And now that I am actually writing the blog and enjoying it I claim that I am also fulfilling their other ‘Plan A.’

Oh!! — “segments of intention” Wow! That resonates so deep for me on a few different levels. I’ve often described my life as segmented but from outside forces. Thank you for sharing that bit of wisdom from Mano. Thank you for writing your blog. I hope to join you in the amphitheater this summer. Peace.

  2. Dear Barbara,
It was lovely to be with you and Susan recently. We so enjoyed being with you in your home. I just received a call from Seraphina about Joel’s passing. She wants me to come to Mendocino on April 11th. I will take you with me in spirit.
    Love, Elizabeth

This is a beautiful blog entry, Barbara, honoring your journey and Mary Jane’s contribution as you step fully into your “segment of intention” as The Woman on the Mountain. I am so grateful for all the ways your love and wisdom and generosity has gently and deeply transformed my own life and my relationships with my loved ones through a an ongoing series of “segments of attention.”

Somehow I’ve gotten off your email list…so happy to have found you again! Thank you for sharing your journey

I am on retreat and only yesterday was recalling (as I often do) a conversation you and I had sitting by the Chesapeake….we were sitting outside by the water and you said of the shiny, shimmering ripples, ‘I think that what we link like inside our bodies’….. I seldom see shimmering water without thinking of you….. thank you for everything!!
